About the Temple

A handful of devotees inspired by the preaching of his holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj started offering weekly prayers in the years 1970/80’s.

His Holiness inaugurated the 1st BAPS temple in Whittier, California, with his divine blessing the congregation grew in numbers day by day.

In 2000, His Holiness visited the current BAPS temple in Chino hills, strengthening the devotee’s desire to build a temple per Indian architecture.

Finally, in the year 2007, the Haveli building (also known as the visitors center) was constructed and his holiness sanctified the temple deities to be installed.

This mandir is the 5th traditional Hindu Mandir in North America, opened in 2012 in Chino Hills, as an epitome of Spirituality.
