About the Temple

This temple has been in service to the members of the Hindu Faith from Omaha, Lincoln, and nearby areas since 1993.

The idea of this Hindu temple began late in the 1970s when engineers and their families immigrated to Omaha from India.

While the Hindu Immigrants initially conducted religious practices in their own homes.

The Hindu community began to grow and expand beyond boundaries and the devotee grew in large numbers that eventually led to the establishment of the temple of Omaha.

In the early 1990s, members of the Hindu community decided it was time to organize a central place for the Hindu community.

In November of 1993, the community purchased a building for the temple located today.
