About the Temple

The Hindu society of Central Florida was established on June 30, 1987.

This temple community called HSCF built the temple’s “Maha Kshetra”( Grand Precinct) on June 19, 2005.

In the presence of thousands of devotees, fulfilling the dream of the entire Hindu community of Central Florida the temple has been in service to the devotees of Orlando and nearby cities.

Deities in the temple

This temple is a divine place of worship as it accommodates any deities in one place namely

  • Lord Ganesha (Sri Ganesh is the son of Lord Shiva and the Divine Mother Parvati; Gana means “discrete forms”, and isha means “Lord”. He is worshiped first before any other worship service is carried out to any other deity)
  • Lord Subramanya (Sri Subramanya is the son of Shiva and Parvati. Other common names of Subramanya are Karthikeya, Muruga, Kumara, Skandha, Shanmuga and Guha.

 Created out of six sparks from the third eye of Lord Shiva, for the special purpose of destroying the demon Soorapadma)

Other Facilities in the temple:

    • Social Hall for conducting functions like weddings, baby rituals, and so on a rental basis
  • The Hindu Society of Central Florida conducts SAT classes with the help of dedicated volunteers in the community. 
  • The educational classes are free except, for a small donation to the institution and a nominal “Guru Dakshina”. Every year many children benefit from the course namely:
  • SAT Math Classes: Every Sunday 7:30 AM – 9 AM 
  • SAT English Class: First Sunday of the Month from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM once a Month
  • SAT Writing Class: Second Sunday of the Month 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM
  • The Hindu Society Central Florida Youth Group meets every Sunday at the temple.
  • Senior Citizens programs: The temple conducts educational seminars, playing joyful games, and has fun-filled excursions for adults and seniors of the families.
