About the Temple

The temple began as a Sarva-Dharma place of worship that promoted the teachings of Shraddha and Saburi of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba.

On Nov 20th, 2004, the temple was inaugurated and the festivities began at 7.30 am with a small Ganesha Pooja.

There are  2 interesting facts related to this temple

  • The temple was situated next to a church, which was next to a mosque that signifies Sai Baba’s Sarva Dharma principle.
  • This place was just like the “Dwarkaimai” in Shirdi, India which was inhabited by Sri Saibaba of Shirdi.

Evolution of new temple

On 18th Aug 2011, the temple authorities purchased a land of 5.5 acres at 2699, W.Plano Parkway, Plano.

The devotees wanted a larger area to commemorate 1000s of devotees, a total of 43,854 sq-ft grand design concept was planned with several phases of construction.

Phase 1 included 16782 sq-ft and was launched in Q2 of 2014, construction began in Nov 2015 and was completed in Q4 of 2018.

This phase included the main mandir, Gurusthan, Lifesize Baba Murthi, Dwarkamai, Chavadi, kitchen, hall, and classrooms.

Saibaba murti was sculpted from the hands of Sri Rajiv Thalim of Mumbai, India who was the grandson of Sri B V Thalim, the original sculptor of Sai Baba murti of Shirdi Sansthan.

The original priest of Shirdi Sansthan joined us to perform all the poojas and ceremonies related to the 3-day event.

The event began on Tue 19th Feb 2019, with Sri Ganesha Stawan, and on Thur 21st Baba murti prana prathista was followed by a series of aartis.

Special service in the temple

The temple organizes monthly annadhaanam on the second Saturday of every month, where devotees cook fresh vegetarian meals and serve them at a homeless shelter in downtown Dallas

Menu:

  • Other miscellaneous snacks

Temple Rules/dress code

  1. Mobile phones to be kept in silent
  2. No outside food is allowed in the temple, also maintain hygiene and etiquette during prasad distribution
  3. Dress code to be followed: no shorts for men and boys, no short skirts for women and girls, and no specific restriction for kids.
  4. Please refrain from bringing uncooked food as an offering for annadhanam or food pantry including lentils, rice, oil , ghee, cooked prasadam will be accepted at all times.
  5. No eating prasad on the main mandir premises
