This temple is located at Chitkul Village near Jogipet in Medak district, Telangana dedicated to Maa Chamundeshwari Devi.

The temple belongs to the post-independence age and is regarded as one of the most powerful temples of Mata Chamundi

Located on the eastern banks of the famous Manjeera River that is a tributary of River Godavari is “Chitkul Chamundeshwari Devi Temple”.

This temple was founded and built by Ayilavajjhala Venkataramanayya, the founder of Shree Chamundeshwari Seva Samithi Shaaktamandal in 1968.

The temple was installed and inaugurated on Jan 2, 1983, on an auspicious day of Ananda Nama Samvatsara, Krishna Paksha Saptami in Pushya Masam.

There is a popular belief that if devotees walk around at least 7 times without wiping their bodies after taking bath they will be immensely blessed by Chamunda Devi.

The Idol of Chamundeshwari Devi is made of Black Stone, with 16 hands, and in standing posture.

Sculptors from Tamil Nadu were invited to carve the Sri Chamundeshwari Devi murti, the murti is 9 feet tall and has a vivacious crown which is very beautiful and striking.

The temple has unique and colorfully appealing architecture. 

As the name of the temple signifies the main deity of the temple is Mata Chamundeshwari Devi

Chamunda Devi was born when Demons Chand and Mund went to conquer Mahakali and during the war, Devi Mahakali cut their heads and gave it to Maa Ambika, who identified her as Chamundeshwari Devi

The temple is also devoted to the divinity of Maa Brahmi Devi, Kaali Devi, and Vaishnavi Devi.

The Chamundeshwari Devi mandir is well known for its rituals and religious offerings to Goddesses of Hindu mythology.
