About the Temple
Residents of Tampa Bay needed a place of worship to practice Sanatana dharma, this motive led to the building of the Hindu Temple in Dec 1983.
Earlier meetings, pooja, and festivals were celebrated in homes, then an organization was formed, to raise funds, and the hunt for land began.
The land was purchased in 1989, and along with it came an old house called “balalaya” initially used as a temple.
The main temple was constructed in 1996 with Maha Kumbabhishekam pooja.
Events like Indianization, the erection of Vimana gopuram, and the deity installation happened in the years 2000 and 2006.
