Temple Overview

The temple is located in Eachanari village, which is 12kms away from the city Coimbatore on NH 209, dedicated to the Lord Vinayagar (Ganesha) is a must visit temple.

Temple Deity

Ganesha is the main deity of the temple. The idol has a tilak on its forehead and a black face, as is traditional for South Indian temple idols.

The primary deity’s idol is 3 feet in diameter and nearly 6 feet in height.

In 2004, the deity’s body was plated with bright gold.

Architecture/History

The temple emerged as a significant place of worship from 16th century AD when it was built.

The Dravidian architectural style, which is popular throughout south India, was used to build the temple.

Numerous Hindu deities, holy animals, and other symbols adorn the temple tower, which rises in stages.

In 1977, the temple underwent its first kumbhabhishekam, and in 1990, it had its second and final kumbhabhishekam.

The trustees gifted a golden chariot to the temple in 1998.

The expansive temple building has large doorways and vast passageways to see the huge Ganesh deity.

A variety of Lord Ganesha mythical tales are shown around the sanctum sanctorum and are described below the pictures.

Temple Story

The Lord’s statue was brought to the Perur Pateeswarar Temple in Tamil Nadu on a cart from Madurai.

The wheel of the cart broke on the way, and the temple had to be built exactly where it is now.

Pooja/Prasad in the temple

Every day, Ganapathi Homam is condusted at the temple, devotees has to deposite money in the temple’s bank to perform the Homam

Every day a chariot parade round the temple, in which worshippers may join by buying ticket

Everyone who enters the temple is treated to a wonderful lunch as part of the event known as the “Annadhana.”

Best Time to visit the temple

Visit the temple at the time of Ganesh Chaturthi if you want to see it in all its glory

You can visit the temple in the colder southern winter months of November through February .

Eachanari Vinayagar Temple celebrates the birthdate of the deity on Ganesh Chaturthi with great excitement, which falls mid-july to mid-August in the tamil month of Avani or Sharavana.

How to reach the temple

By Air

The nearest airport is Coimbatore International airport, 26 km away.

By Bus

Only 12 km and about 30 minutes of driving will get you to the crowded city of Coimbatore.

Getting a taxi or cab and having it drop you off at the temple on the Coimbatore-Pollachi route is simple.

By Train

The nearest railway station is Coimbatore railway station which is 10 km away.
