The Ritual Process
- Sankalpa and Ganapati Puja: A statement of intent, followed by prayers to Lord Ganesha first, so the ceremony goes smoothly — the standard start for any homam.
- Invocation of Varahi: The priest formally invites the Goddess into the ceremony.
- Mantra chanting: Varahi’s mantras are chanted while offerings are prepared.
- Offerings into the fire: Ghee and sacred herbs are offered into the fire throughout the chanting.
- Purnahuti: The final and most important offering, which completes the homam.
- Aarti and Prasad: The ceremony ends with Aarti and Prasad given to devotees.
Benefits
- Grants protection from enemies: Shields the devotee from visible and hidden opposition.
- Removes obstacles quickly: Known among devotees for faster results than some other remedies.
- Wards off negative energy: Helps protect against black magic and ill intentions.
- Supports success in disputes: Sought by those facing legal or career-related conflicts.
- Invokes swift divine protection: Calls on Varahi’s strength during urgent situations.
Note: Varahi homam is traditionally performed by Sri Vidya Upasakas, practitioners of Sri Vidya, a Hindu spiritual tradition centered on worshipping the Divine Mother as Lalita Tripura Sundari through sacred mantras and meditation on the Sri Chakra.
