About the Temple

This place of worship is built on top of a hill area 400 feet above sea level, with four corridors in the Indian style built on Agama Sastras.

This temple was built in 1978 by a small group of devotees by selecting a site in Helensburgh close to rivers, mountains, springs, and a coastline.

Events like Mahakumbhabhishekam of Lord Ganesha (Sri Varasidhi Vinayagar) and the main temple deity Lord Venkateswara, Sri Lakshmi, and Andal took place on 30th June 1985.

Inspiration for this divine gesture was taken by Tirupati Devasthanam from India.

The temple upholds a simple yet elegant Indian style of Architecture, it took 7 long years to complete the construction and perform the inauguration.

Temple Deities and their significance

Lord Venkateshwara (known as Balaji and Govinda) is the main deity, also regarded as “Kaliyuga Varada” (Due to the degeneration of Kali).

Sri Devi (Lakshmi) is the wife of Lord Vishnu, the goddess of wealth and prosperity.

Goddess Andal (Kothai Naachiyaar), the only female Alvar among the 12 Alvar saints of South Indian Mythology can be seen

Lord Ganesh, Navagraha, Durgambika, Rama, Krishna, Hanuman, and many more deities are present in the vicinity of Lord Venkateswara

Festivals celebrated

Purutasi Masam is of great importance, celebrated on behalf of Lord Venkateshwara, it’s the ideal month for thanking him for protecting the Universe.

festivals like Ugadi (Pongal), Krishna Janmashtami, Rama Navami, Ganesha Chaturthi, and so on are celebrated throughout the year

Special pooja and charges

Special offerings like Flowers, raisins, modak, adai, thulasi, pulihara (tamarind rice), curd rice, and medu vada are offered to lord Venkateshwara.

Celebrating Srinivasa Kalyanam is an age-old custom of the temple.

Temple Rules/Dress Code

  • Strict no to alcohol, outside food, smoking, drugs, footwear, and the mobile phone switched off on the temple premises
  • Devotees are expected to visit temples in Indian attire.
  • Maintain cleanliness by not littering the temple and campus
