The sacred offering of Diya on Dev Diwali/Karthik Purnima

This full moon day, occurring during the highly sacred month of Karthika, is immensely dear to Hari and Hara. It is also known as Tripura Purnima or Deva Deepavali. The Karthika Purana states that performing Deeparadhana (lighting of lamps) on this day leads to attaining Kailasa.

Why should a lamp be lit for Lord Shiva?

Lighting a lamp is considered a sacred offering in the Hindu tradition of worship. Offering a lamp to Lord Shiva during the month of Karthika brings peace, prosperity, spiritual strength, and divine grace to you and your family.
