Importance of Phalguna Purnima

Apart from festivals, Pournami is a very important and auspicious day in Hindu calendar. Pournami that falls in the month of Phalgun is called as Phalguna Purnima or Phalguna Pournami. Paush Purnima Significance and Importance

The day when Purnima falls in the month of Paush or Pushyam is treated as Paush Purnima. It marks the end of Paush Maas and the beginning of the Magh month (As per Purnimanth Calendar). Significance of Paush Purnima

On Paush Purnima devotees observe other festivals and vrat like Shakambhari Jayanthi, Satyanarayana Vratham, and Charta Festival. The famous Magh Mela in Allahabad starts on the next day of Paush Purnima. Pushyabhishek Yatra is celebrated in Sri Krishna temples all over India. Goddess Laxmi, Lord Shiva, and Lord Brahma are also worshiped on this day.
